Welcome to Chemistry & the Law
of the American Chemical Society.
Unlike many divisions that focus on laboratory research, our division focuses on educating others about issues that arise at the intersection of chemistry and the law. For example, we have programmed for several years at local, regional and national ACS meetings on topics related to FDA regulatory and patent laws as they pertain to chemical industries and technology. We also have recently started programming regularly in the area of forensics. Besides programming at ACS meetings, our division has served the ACS community by running initiatives such as the Legal Evaluation Network, an organization dedicated to matching qualified attorneys with ACS members with legal needs.
As you browse the contents of our website, please look for ways that you can get involved with our division and do not hesitate to let us know how we can better serve you.
CHAL offers programming at each and every ACS National Meeting. We hope to see you at the upcoming meeting. Please join us for a drink at our reception.
Want to contribute to CHAL or just come by to see what its about? Please do! We are always looking for new friends to learn from and fellowship with. Check out our executive committee page and do not hesitate to drop one of us a line.
